Well done US

After the Abottabad incident (bin laden encounter etc) pakistan army shivered in anger.. their ministers warned india not to attempt another Abottabad with them as pakistan army is on high alert and will strike it back. Hahaha... first of all US attacked them why are they crying after India? ok lets leave it lets assume they wanted to express their anguish.

Couple of days back supposedly the next heir of BinLaden Kashmiri was killed by an operation lead by CIA (air-strike) in Pakistan. Now what did the raging pak army do? would they again cry at India?

Would India learn form these incidents? Would we ever teach them a lesson? or only exchange papers asking for the terrorists? US on the other hand had crossed all the countries, continents and are silently doing their work. I can only appreciate them for their focus. Well done US/ CIA.

well done!!!

Few days back my brother came home late.. when esquired he told that he was stopped by the traffic police and was fined 300 Rs. I asked him and he told the conversation btw him and the police..

Traffic police: U get the fine of 300 Rs or u can give me 100Rs and leave
Bro: I will pay 300Rs; please prepare the chalan
Police: u work for software company?
bro: Yes
Police: You software pple have toomuch of money... and dont know its value!!!

To this i was agitaged... and said "u should have said its none of ur business; prepare the chalan and thats it!" to which my brother said: "yes i could have.. but u see they are police... and he can book u in some stupid case which will take years to resolve. Why take conflict with him! so i said yes and silently paid the amount and came off!!!"

His interpretation is: "we shouldnt be taking short cuts; its very incorrect to bribe them!" to this i added "very correct;  on one hand we have pple like Anna Hazare who is on fast to stand against corruption; atleast for them we shouldnt be bribing these pple"

I remember a similar incident at Sanath nagar; It was the first day to office and i was going by my new bike. Suddenly the police stopped me. I was terrified.. I told its quite new; just 1 week old and so i cannot produce RC. That guy didnt listen; all he was telling is produce RC or pay chalan. Having no options i agreed for the chalaan... he took my llicense as surity and wrote that i didnt get my license and so am fined 300Rs. Behind the bill it was written as 100Rs if RC wasnt produced. I was agitated.. and shouted in anger at him "how can u write that my license is not there when u took it and kept in ur pockt?" By then a good amount of crowd had gathered and he silently took back the chalan and wrote the proper one. A week later i went to the police dept and payed the fine.

Anna Hazare: i want to be with u but....

Last week Anna Hazare was on news for the fast he adopted against the govt regarding the lok pal bill. Many supported it; netegens flooded appreciations / support; indians from china/ africa/ US etc etc fasted for a day to show their support. I felt like.. Wow! how nice! But was guilty to stand by him 'cos i remember how honest i am to the govt.

I remember taking shortcuts; producing wrong bills to escape tax; sometimes against compulsion (eg: traffic police) and some times to save money; what ever be it i had the guilty feeling when i did them but went doing.... 'cos if otherwise it may become the pain point...  'cos my frnds are doing it

Would i change? May be! I want to at-least.. though it takes a lot of effort from my side to doit. Few minutes back i saw images on FB telling Mera neta choor hai! But i think even i m a choor.

in context of my prev post; heres what went in Assembly (legislative assembly). The guy standing up and speaking is JP who (my fav leader as well) is impeccable for his character/ attitude; he resigned his IAS post disgusted with the corrupt politics of the state. So here he goes... telugu one though.



poor guys (like me) who have a bad internet connection / very less time... concisely his points are as follows

1. In history combodia/ china almost bought a category of pple to extinct as a result of such a racial hatred. 
2. Nannayya shined the Telugu language; Gurajada apparao -a social reformer advocated uniformity in society; now if we destroy their icons whose works are independent of regions... where is the moment going? what is it conveying?
3. If u see the statues in the light of regions... then would we see at Mahatma in the same light? So we dont allow icons of Sir Ardhur koton? here are countries who respect India and have our icons in their public squares.so we are telling this wrong?

Finally to JP: I think u need to be breef; having liked u so much many a times i felt u need to cut on examples and reach the point.. atleast when ur point was already conveyed in ur previous stmts.

India

We are a nation where piza reaches home fastr than ambulance and police..where one can get a car loan @7% but education loan@12%.Where rice is Rs40/Kg but Sim card is free...where people worship goddess Durga but want to kill the girl child... where Olympic shooter wins gold govt.. gives him3crore another shooter dies fighting with terrorist govt pays him 1 lakh sad to see how we ourself destroying our great country!

ChandrababuNaidu fasting...

Farmers are super sufferrers in India at-least in Andhrapradesh. 6-10 suicides a day is very, very very common.. so much that news papers publish it in 4th or 5th page at some corner, some don't even do it. Farmers life is more like a gamble. They work very very hard all the year investing their life in the crop. They dont get a proper seed/ fertilizer or the government doesn't give a proper price to the crop or a cyclone sweeps away the harvest or the middle men exploit them... what ever be the case they are the super sufferers. I havent heard of atleast one case where a farmer really profited. Andhra pradesh is rice bowl of india and such a situation here is just un-digestable.

Not able to toil the situation recently the opposition leader Chandrababu naidu had sat down to fasting. At first i welcomed it as his demands can help the farmers in coping up. He is on fast since 4 days and the state and the center is deeply worried about it. With so much of effort and time going in are we getting to a permanent fix to the problem? I fear history may repeat again and what would he do then? again sit to fast? In my view fasting only compels the opposite person to listen to you and act in your favor and nothing more.

Isnt there a nicer solution?

• In my view farmers shouldnt be totally dependent on cultivation alone. They should be into multiple small scale business like Silk, paper, poultry, making of daily tiffins and exporting them to cities (more similar to the milk packets we get every day; and infact i had see it happening at station few years back) substitutes for polythene bags, tomato sauce, jam, etc. His investment on each of his work should be in such a way that loss/ bankrupsy in one business shouldnt end him up in suicides. This not only helps him but also avoids localization of employment to cities and the Side affect: lesser migrations of people form villages to cities.
• One more point. I dont like doing things for free. The best example is ration shop where the poor gets food grains for a huge subsidy and in return what does govt get? debts? Instead lets make it like this: I will give food grains for huge subsidy, but this year i see accumulation of tomato so buy 1 kg of tomato for every 4 kgs of rice. I see it perfectly valid deal. Side affect: Farmer is benefited, end user may buy less of subsidy food and less the burden on government.
• put a competition in Andhrapradesh/ india telling the best 10 ideas to fix the farmers problem gets 1 lakh rupees. We may put the ideas open online and let people vote against them as well.
• Highlight/ award extensively the farmer who innovatively overcame his issues and publicize extensively his works so that others can take him as an example/ role model.

All the above requires time, patience to do and see things happening after all that is for what the Government is meant for. Do you disagree?

Gandhism

In the last decade, statues and busts of Mahatma Gandhi have been installed by scores of cities -- from Trujillo in Peru to Osnabrueck in Germany -- to honour what could arguably be India's greatest export: Gandhian philosophy. 

At a time when the world is beset with the War On Terror, ethnic conflicts and economic uncertainty, more and more people across the world seem to be seeking solace in Gandhi's non-violence and simplicity. So it comes as no surprise that, in December 2005, a bust of Gandhi was installed atBelgrade in Serbia, a city that was witness to horrendous blood-letting till a few years ago. A few months ago, a similar memorial for Gandhi had come up outside the Cypriot Parliament House in Nicosia for its lawmakers to draw inspiration. And a year later, the German Parliament followed suit. 

The installation of his statues in city council offices, public parks and universities shows that Gandhi may have been a staunch critic of the developed world and its consumerism but the weight of his moral philosophy has not been lost on the First World. Houston, New York, Sydney, Nottingham, Vancouver, Antwerp and Genoa are among cities that requested Gandhi in stone or bronze in the past few years. All requests are made through the local Indian diplomatic missions

The statues and busts are sent by Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), set up in 1950 by another Gandhian himself, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. ICCR's mandate is to foster respect for Indian culture in other countries and its select group of sculptors have been kept busy as the world continues to rediscover Gandhi six decades after his death. Slovenia was the latest entrant to the list when a life-size bronze statue of the Mahatma sitting in a meditative posture was unveiled at the Slovene Gradec Municipality earlier this year

Fittingly, the greatest recognition of the resilience of Gandhian thought came from the United Kingdom, the country he spent his lifetime fighting. Arguing for his statue in the Parliament Square in 2007, Mayor of London Ken Livingstone told the BBC, "You get millions of people from all over the world who come to see Big Ben and see the statue of Churchill and so on, and here's someone they would understand. In a thousand years, they'll still know who Mahatma Gandhi was, whereas if you wander round Trafalgar Square, the two generals there, you have to go and check the history books.'' 

Thats an extract from times of india. Feeling very proud for having read such a thing.

Bhagawad geeta

A very interesting paragraph i came across this morning .. an eye opener to me.. atleast.

"The Law Minister had said that Geeta cannot be made religious book for India. He was giving a statement in Rajya Sabha on 19th Nov.2007to a question of 2 MPs. 

Firstly the Geeta never speaks about any religion as such. It is purely a code of conduct for human beings as to who one should live and behave in society up rightly. Secondly it was written time immemorial and before the coming up of any religion. Since Hindus were first Indians and there was no other religion hence it is alleged that it relates to Hindus only. It is absolutely wrong. 

The next point is when ever we say something we first keep in mind the so called opposition of Muslims and Christians. While applying test as to to so called Indian secularism we first see the appeasement of Muslims and Christians and ignore the due rights of Hindus.

Commonwealth Games a hit, now punish graft

Nice moov.. but can we trust it?

Few years back Andhra was suffering with the shortage of food grains; the ACB (Anti corruption bereau) had un-covered huge godwn-s of rice stored illegally. Then what did the government do? simple, collected fine and left the thieves off. I fealt like, "its ok if u earned some money illegally as long as u give me a share of it!" WOW! what a logic! One more: I remember similar alligations around CBI during rajiv gandhi's case. Now how far will the truth come out and how accurately would the probing be done? or is it only a way to redistribute/ normalize the corrupted money earned during the event?Even if it happens truthfully then when will the case close? somebody will challenge it in highcourt and then in supremecourt and the case continues... continues... continuess.... for long long time... soooo long time .. nobody knows when it ends...  

The next moves by the center tells how much they value the money paid by the comman man to government in the form of taxes! It would also be interesting to see if they will comeup with a process in place to stop such things from repeating again.

Abdul Kalam has a quiet birthday

Former President A P J Abdul Kalamcelebrated his 80th birthday at the government guest house here yesterday, without fanfare and in the company of his close associates. 

Kalam, who was here to attend two functions, cut a cake in the presence of personal secretary R K Prasad, his advisor V Ponraj and a few other friends. 

Incidentally, Kalam could spend his 80th birthday in Kerala, where he spent most of the years of his career working with the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) at Thiruvananthapuram. 

After two functions in the capital on Thursday in the company of students which he always loved, Kalam attended the 200th anniversary of the Forona Church at Edathva and had an interaction with students of the Sanathana Dharma Vidya Sala here on his birthday.

Kashmir

Today i read that china has pitched  in to the kashmir issue. It says that pakistan has donated the land to it. Another news says that pakistan is planning to raise the kashmir issue in UN council. Isn't it intelligent move? i think pak is getting chinas support and using it to fix the issue.

Arent we going Eccentric???

This was the google buzz that actually motivated me to write the post...

These days people all around have only one thing to talk.. cricket, cricket cricket... as if there are no more avagations in india. U should see then if its india  vs pakistan match.. they are like lizards on the TV screens. before i  prolong further let me hit the point.


The other day i was watching CWG games in which the women were exited for winning gold, broze, and silver medals for india (discus throw); badmenton was great the little kid had overthrown the australian... sania mirzaa... Hockey btw india and pakistan was superb... the way indians did passes and exploited the pakistans weakness... Each of them was taking trphy... and there are hardly audiance to cheer them up... In discus throw the poor woman when winning bronze was looking around... "guys this is an achievement please make some noise"


india plays cricket evry day... all 365 days our cricketers are busy with it... i see no wonder in his achievement... Dont u think we indians are behaving eccentric? 1000 years from now and i m sure we are still fans of cricket.

I remember the last time when the SPORT AUTHORITY OF INDIA didnt pay (not couldnt pay) the hockey team their wages; finally herohonda and sahara pitched in and made the payment.. now with such a shitty environment ... its natural that they dont perform.. how horrible.. no body electronic/ print media pointed this out and didnt bring in pressure on govt.. common man... god knows him.. is busy watching cricket...

r u guys not tired of this game??? 20-20, t20, champions trophy, trinagular series, some cup... some other cup... i wonder why not yet!

Ayodhya again

How ever i think no body is giving any importance to this issue now. At first i could see flared up leaders of Muslim community challenging to question this issue in supreme court, however their statements raised no dust counrty wide; the local news channels themselves didnt mind ignoring this news. At first, either sides were too rigid to giveup their stand, slowly the pple of ayodhya both hindu/ muslims appealed them to shut the issue as its affecting their personal lives.... i was observing what would happen next; yesturday all 3 parties of Ayodhya case met for the first time and showed their content after the discussions. Today there was a news citing muslims are trying to see if they can hold their land or relocate to a new place... 

Slowly... the issue is seeing some solution and i am sure it will come to an end in couple of years with out the intervention of supremecourt. I wish court not to come in again!

Australia

Was reading about racism in australia and how their counrty is sacking the personell. How nice if we had a proper government/ education system enough to feed our own people... so that we dont need to touch the soil of other countries.

india vs china

Lets put the patiotic feelings a side...

Today i was reading abt china before 1950 and after it. It grew from 5% GDP to 10%; the poverty came down from 64% to 36% and its more export oriented country. It has a strong management/ communist leadership in place which ensured this. Few days back i remember an article telling that india is far behind and will overtake china in 2015. The main argument cited for this is that by then the average age in india would be less than the china and hence the overtake. However my views are diffarent.

To the best of my understanding its the leadership/ management thats more important than the workforce/ the ability to do work by the low level pple. So i am not sure if this will really become a reality... atleast given the hisoty of the 2 nations and their strategic moves till now.
